A category defined by specific legal provisions
EB-4 is not a general route for public-service experience or humanitarian concern. Each subcategory has its own requirements.
Religious workers
Organization, position and qualifying religious history. R-1 and permanent processes differ.
Special Immigrant Juveniles
Requires state juvenile-court findings plus federal requirements.
Other groups
International-organization employees and program-specific Afghan and Iraqi cases need separate review.
What to bring
Existing classification documents and prior government notices.
Proposed legal fee
Religious worker $6,000–$10,000; SIJ federal stage $4,000–$8,000; others quoted individually. Government charges and screening are separate.
Does classification approval mean immediate residence?
Not necessarily. Visa availability and the next procedural stage still matter.
